SMS Service
You can send and receive short messages (SMSs) on your cell phone.
You need to set up your phone in order to send or receive an SMS. Go to the message menu and select "Message Centre Number" and key in +267 71 010 024. Once this number has been entered it is not necessary to enter it again.
- Every time you receive an SMS your cell phone will beep and an envelope icon will appear on your phone's screen
- If your phone is switched off the SMS will remain at the Mascom Message Centre and will be delivered once your phone is switched back on again.
Managing SMSs and Phone Capacity
You are advised to erase (delete) SMSs after you have read them so that you can maximise your phone's storage capacity.
The maximum length of an SMS is 160 characters.
Prepaid SMS Rates:
- Mascom to Mascom at P0.20
- Mascom to other local network P0.40
- Mascom to international network P0.40
Postpaid SMS Rates:
- Mascom to Mascom at P0.17
- Mascom to other local network P0.30
- Mascom to international network P0.30
