What is a freebie?
Answer
Freebie is free airtime offered purely at the sole discretion of Mascom .It is normally given after every recharge as long as your account is within its window period and you do not have a negative balance on your account. Airtime can be used on Mascom to Mascom calls only and cannot be used on SMS/ MMS, irrespective of the destination
Call charges will be deducted from the Freebie account and if the Freebie' credit finishes, the call will disconnect and a new call has to be started, provided there is airtime in the private account Calls to other destinations will be deducted from the other pocket, the private account.
Freebie airtime is not transferable between accounts e.g.: The on line balance message shows the two balances that are on subscriber's account, i.e. Freebie PXXX, Your balance PXXX, Recharge before XXX, Last call: Duration XXX, Cost XXX
When do I get a freebie?

Freebie is solely at the discretion of Mascom after a recharge and in certain promotions. Promotions currently offering freebie airtime are

This could be because you had a negative balance before your recharge or that your account has gone beyond its window period.
A window period is the time that one is allowed to take between recharges and it depends on the value of the recharge. Below is a list of window periods according to the recharge value
How do I check my balance?
Answer
Your Mascom sim card comes preprogrammed with the online balance service. To deactivate or activate your online balance, dial 106 and follow the voice prompts. If you have deactivated your online balance service, you can check your balance by dialing 102 at a cost of P0.10.What is a colme?
Answer
It's a service where subscribers with no airtime can send a message requesting a call. This request can be made to both Mascom and Orange subscribers. One has to have at least a balance of P0.00 to be able to use this service.
How do I send a colme?
Answer
You dial 107 followed by the number you would like to send a colme to e.g. 10771xxxxxx. This service is entirely free if you have P0.00 but charges P0.10 if you can afford to make a call. You can also send a colme to an orange number for P0.20.
What is direct top up?
Answer
It is a service that allows you to recharge your account anywhere there is Mascom coverage through your bank.
How do I top up?
Answer
You can use this service if you have a visa card, your ID number, VISA card number, and VISA card expiry date ready. Call 109 and follow voice prompts. You can only recharge with P20 or more
What is direct top up via sms?
Answer
It’s a service that allows you to top up with airtime anywhere there is Mascom coverage. This top up is through sms. It is also done through your bank
How do I top up via sms?
Answer
Register by calling 119. send your pin to 108 and send (top, amount, last four digits of your visa card, direct top up pin) to 109 to recharge.
What is nzamele?

It is a service that allows you to share your airtime with another prepaid customer. It is charged at P0.20.
